this meme was initially born out of my interest in the creative relationship between death grips and animator galen pehrson - specifically, i was inspired by the shitshow music video, which opens with footage of pehrson being filmed by his partner (?) while paramedics try to coax any kind of coherent response out of him. i turned to google in hopes of finding some explanation for pehrson’s condition - did he have a seizure? too much acid? psychotic break? who knows… in classic death grips fashion, powerfully unsettling personal experience was presenting alongside performance art without context or explanation. all my research really turned up was this picture of pehrson and zach hill at some porn hub x brazzers event (a picture that i can’t find anymore lol). from there, i thought it would be funny to connect this picture with the fact that the two of them shared a director’s credit for the shitshow video. just as that video was removed from youtube, this meme was instantly removed 2-3 times from instagram before i was able to get it to stick. the message from instagram was basically that my post was not high enough priority to get looked at by a mod. idk if it was the #pornhub, #brazzers, etc. hashtags that i used or what, but fuck the zuck regardless.
