Hi, I’m Aurora and I am a photographer living in Denver, CO. These images were immediately flagged and taken down from my photography page–which is pretty exclusively commercial-type creative portraits. I thought setting the age restriction to 18+ would solve the issue, but I am thinking I should try to change my sex to Male on my profile cause I have heard that is another potential safguard against being flagged. It’s upsetting that this type of content is being censored, deleted, and our community members which deserve the most representation and protections are being deplatformed. The deletion of sex workers and sex positive content is a political issue, a class issue, and an attack on representation, inclusivity and progress in a violent world. The community I have grown with on instagram has been so pivotal to shaping my worldview with sex positive content, education, and an engaged, open-minded community. I’ll be happy to move to a new platform with all my favorite creatives. I believe that if we were to listen to the most marginalized and shape the world based on their needs we would all be better for it. That’s what I want; decriminalization, sex worker sovereignty, and a life-affirming world for Black Trans and Indigenous people.
